Island Roots, Global Experience

After nearly three years on Vancouver Island, I’ve built a strong connection to the natural environment and local community here in Victoria. While I value the lifestyle and pace of life on the Island, my professional focus remains on working with growing businesses that need experienced marketing leadership and execution support.

I bring over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications across publishing, fintech, SaaS, and nonprofit sectors. I’ve led strategy and campaigns for global publishers including Wiley, Bloomsbury, and Taylor & Francis, and supported fintech and SaaS companies such as CoinField, Sologenic, and Finhaven.

My work spans brand strategy, content development, advertising, and campaign execution, with a focus on clarity, structure, and measurable outcomes.

Today, I work with businesses on a contract basis as a marketing lead, typically through 90-day or 3–6 month engagements. I step into organizations to help define direction, strengthen messaging, and drive execution across marketing channels.

I also have a background in journalism, with training and experience in both Canada and the UK. I’ve reported for The Langara Voice and covered major international film festivals including London, Venice, and Berlin, which helped shape my ability to understand storytelling, audience engagement, and communication at scale.

I’ve held senior roles in branding, marketing strategy, and communications across fintech, SaaS, and digital organizations. My work has included developing go-to-market strategies, leading multi-channel campaigns, and building brand and content systems designed to support growth and engagement.

I’ve helped organizations clarify their positioning, strengthen messaging, and execute marketing strategies across content, digital, and product channels.

Publishing & Education Experience

Earlier in my career, I worked in academic and trade publishing, including roles at Routledge (Taylor & Francis), where I developed marketing strategies for global book launches and educational content.
 
I’ve also worked with educational institutions such as Headington School, creating campaigns designed to engage students, parents, and academic audiences while supporting institutional goals.

Journalism & Media Background

I trained in journalism at The London School of Journalism, and Langara College in Canada, developing skills in writing, editing, multimedia production, and reporting.

As a reporter for The Langara Voice, I covered live events, conducted interviews, and produced written and multimedia content. I later worked as a freelance film journalist covering major international festivals including London, Venice, and Berlin.
 
This background strengthened my ability to understand storytelling, audience engagement, and communication across different formats.
