Marketing Strategist for Island Businesses
Hi, I’m Darren Amner, a Victoria-based marketing and communications specialist living in the Maplewood neighbourhood on Vancouver Island. Since moving here nearly three years ago, I’ve fallen in love with the island lifestyle—whether hiking coastal paths in Sooke or enjoying the charm of small towns like Sidney. Living here has deepened my connection to community and inspired me to support local businesses with the skills I’ve built over a 15+ year career.
I’ve led marketing strategies for global publishers like Wiley, Bloomsbury, and Taylor & Francis, and helped scale fintech and SaaS startups such as CoinField, Sologenic, and Finhaven. My work spans content development, branding, advertising, and campaign strategy—always focused on growth and measurable results.
I also had the honour of working with the late Dr. Sue Johnson—world-renowned psychotherapist and developer of Emotionally Focused Therapy—managing her PR, events, and marketing to support her global impact.
