Role
Freelance Film Journalist
I have extensive experience in freelance film journalism, specializing in feature writing, interviews, news reporting, and radio production. Over the course of my career, I have written more than 80 film reviews and attended major international film festivals, where I engaged with key figures in horror and independent cinema. My work as a film journalist and critic for Eye for Film includes in-depth reviews across a wide range of genres, as well as interviews with directors, writers, and actors such as Dario Piana, Robert Kurtzman, and Todd Farmer. I have also contributed festival coverage from major events including London, Venice, and Berlin.
My writing interests span across genres, with a particular focus on horror and independent film. I am drawn to distinctive visual styles, experimental camera work, and strong directorial voices, with a long-standing appreciation for filmmakers such as John Carpenter. I also value sharp, character-driven screenwriting, drawing inspiration from writers like Kevin Williamson, Shane Black, and Roger Avary.
Alongside contemporary cinema, I have an interest in career resurgence stories within the industry, particularly actors who have redefined their trajectories through later work. This includes performances such as Mickey Rourke’s in Angel Heart, which remains a notable influence on my perspective as a critic.
