Role

Freelance Film Journalist

I have extensive experience in freelance film journalism, specializing in feature writing, interviews, news reporting, and radio production. Over the course of my career, I’ve written over 80 film reviews and had the opportunity to attend major film festivals, where I engaged with key figures in horror and independent cinema. My contributions as a film journalist and critic for Eye for Film include in-depth reviews across various genres, engaging interviews with directors, writers, and actors such as Dario Piana, Robert Kurtzman, and Todd Farmer, and festival coverage from renowned events like London, Venice, and Berlin.

I’ve always loved the movies that others don’t, embracing any genre but making a particular splash when it comes to horror. I’ve long been drawn to self-indulgent camera work, crazy angles, and artistic flair, with a special reverence for classic auteurs like John Carpenter. Even his critically panned films, such as Vampires and Ghosts of Mars, hold a special place in my heart as guilty pleasures. I’ve found inspiration in the sharp dialogue of screenwriters like Kevin Williamson, Shane Black, and Roger Avary, with The Rules of Attraction being one of my favorite films in recent years.

I'm also an advocate of the Hollywood career revival, especially with talents like Mickey Rourke, whose performance in Angel Heart left a lasting impression on me.
